Limburg...'Where in the bronze-green oak '

'Waar in 't bronsgroen eikenhout' (Where in the bronze-green oak) is the official Limburg anthem. This 1909 poem by teacher Krekelberg was purposely used to portray Limburg as part of the Netherlands. Before that time, Limburg had many German and French (Maastricht) influences.

Limburg excels in its beautiful nature, beautiful rolling hills and the various rivers and streams give the various regions extra shine. The Meuse also plays an important role in this, if only because of the transport of materials by boat. Recreation is possible on the Maasplassen, walking and cycling through the flat land, but also through the Heuvelland. In spring and summer, many terraces are full of locals and tourists from home and abroad. Welcome to Limburg!

Spending an afternoon on the heath sketching is a favorite moment for me. The painting is already prepared by nature. The peace, the smell and the serinity is fantastic.

Autumn over Wijlre
Keutenberg
Keutenberg, Wijlre

The beautiful colors of autumn adorn the hills around Wijlre. The sheep graze on the last clumps of grass and the year slowly bumps into winter. First a few nice walks through the woods in this beautiful area.

Full and warm colors during autumn

near Epen

We regularly walk through nature. Especially in autumn it is a pleasure to walk through the Heuvelland. The smell of the moist forest and the beautiful warm colors of the plants and trees are very pleasant to enjoy.

Asparagus season

Northern part of Limburg

In early spring, people and especially restaurateurs look forward to the period when this white golden vegetable can be cut out of the ground. It's asparagus season again!
